Where The Designers Are, And More…

October 23, 2009  12:45 pm

If you can’t find any designers to hang out with this weekend, it’s because they’re all in Rio. Diddy, Ciara, Grace Jones, Mariah Carey, and a “slew of models” will be there, too. We’re sure your plans stack up. [WWD]

Recession, reschmession. Giambattista Valli is so over it. [The Moment]

But Gawker isn’t. They sent their interns out to update this not-so-uplifting map of store closings and markdowns in Nolita. [Gawker]

This Halloween, Heidi Klum wants you to “really go for it!” Her costume suggestions for dressing like a vampire include asking your dentist to make you some fangs. That way, “they fit your teeth perfectly!” [MSN]

We saw Nicole Richie’s contemporary line coming from a mile and quirky headpiece away, but the Olsens have actually surprised us with this news. Word is they’re launching Olsenboye, a junior’s line to be sold at JCPenney. Really? As long as no Mary-Kate and Ashley dolls are free with purchase, we guess we’re OK with this. Maybe. [The Cut]

Christian Louboutin wants nothing to do with diffusion lines, which means the leopard-spotted men’s high-tops he designs for men will only be available at full price. Sorry, guys. [The Cut]
