Couture To Go, From Net-A-Porter
We were doing a little last-minute Christmas wish-list making when we discovered another cool project from the fashion brain trust at Net-a-porter.com. Azzaro’s Vanessa Seward has partnered with the Web site to launch a Made to Order service. It works like this: First, you select a dress from 16 different options, then you personalize it with your choice of colors, fabrics, and crystal embellishments. Four to six weeks later, the dream dress will arrive, boasting a label with your name on it alongside a drawing of said creation by Seward herself. The bespoke service will cost you at least $5,745, but that’s a lot less expensive than couture from other French houses, and just think of the money you’ll save on airfare to Paris and a room at the Hotel Le Bristol.
