End of an Era

With 2009 coming to an end, much ink (digital and otherwise) has been spilled to memorialize the winding-down of the year and aughts. And while there are many different signs—from the shuttering of countless brands, labels, magazines, and papers to the tentative, hopeful rebounding of the markets—that suggest we’re at the End of an Era™, the best one we’ve found is (as usual) from Purple: Ur-beardo Devendra Banhart has shaved his trademark facial hair.
