The writing’s been on the wall for some time, but Suzy Menkes says it out loud today: Martin Margiela has left the building—er, Maison. His design team will take over and he will not be replaced. [NYT]

Speaking of houses, YSL’s is on the market. Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé’s duplex on Paris’ Rue de Babylone is expected to bring in over €20 million. At the relevant exchange rates, that’s more than $30 million, or about 15,000 YSL frocks. [WWD]

The entire fashion world is buzzing about Tim Burton’s forthcoming Alice in Wonderland, and Tom Binns is no exception: The jeweler has been commissioned to make a limited-edition collection inspired by the film’s characters, like the Mad Hatter, the White Queen, and the Red Queen.
