On Our Radar: Roll & Tumble Press’ “Holly Jolly” Card

I know, I know: You’re practically still full from Thanksgiving, and the world’s already gone full-stop Christmas crazy. The holiday onslaught can be overwhelming, but if you’re an occasional Luddite like me, who insists on sending a few well-placed holiday cards—the paper-and-ink kind, not tweeted or Facebook wall-posted but relayed via that dinosaur, the U.S. Postal Service—well, now’s the time. I love Little Rock’s Roll & Tumble Press, which is now selling its letterpress cards and stationery through Feltandwireshop.com. This lino-cut card trades the usual holiday sap for spice: No saccharine Hallmark sentiments, just a sweet, slightly burlesque-y lady, wearing a gift-box hat I’d swear was a Philip Treacy. “Have a Holly Jolly,” the inside reads. With a card like this one, how could you not?

Cute, but I’m still planning on sending an “awkward family photo” card. Funny is fun!
