What’s Old Is New Again (Again)

File under: wheel, no need to reinvent. Yes, fashion’s all about innovation, but when your designer is Stefano Pilati and your archives are the past few years of YSL, there are plenty of pieces we’d be happy to see get a revival on the racks. Now we’re getting our chance. As you may have read, the brand is debuting New Vintage II, which re-creates pieces in remnant fabric from the vaults. (It follows on the heels of last season’s New Vintage.) Pilati has picked the best of his recent designs for the 121-piece collection, which draws on pieces from 2005-2009 made in archival fabrics. Think of it as a Pilati greatest-hits album—and as Yves Saint Laurent fanatics already know, the guy’s had some great hits.

Now available at YSL flagships in New York, Paris, and London; for more information, visit www.ysl.com.
