Another Day, Another Alice

January 14, 2010  3:19 pm

Is it Alice Week here on Style.com? Pretty much. Yesterday, we brought you the first photo of Stella McCartney’s Alice necklace, pegged to Tim Burton’s upcoming film; today, we’ve got the first look at the latest of Disney’s designer collaborations around the flick, from L.A.-based designer Sue Wong.

“I first read Alice in Wonderland when I was ten years old, and remember it quite vividly,” Wong told us. Her collection of dresses takes its cues from the book’s various characters, from the heroine herself to the perpetually late White Rabbit. But we’re betting that Wong’s fans will head straight for the goods inspired by the film’s anti-heroines, the dueling Red Queen (pictured) and White Queen. Who says good girls have all the fun? Not Wong. “As I girl, when I first saw Snow White, I was never fascinated by her,” Wong mused on Alice’s fellow Disney princess. “She was a one-note character. But I thought the Queen was magnificent. She was so lethal and so elegant—so much more fully dimensional.”

Available next month at select Bloomingdale’s, Saks, and Neiman Marcus locations; for stores, visit www.suewong.com.
