Ashish’s New Gold Standard

January 7, 2010  3:53 pm

Topshop is the undisputed king of high-low collaborations, turning out more guest-designed collections each season than we can keep track of. But don’t miss Ashish Gupta’s, whose Spring capsule marks his fourth season working with the retailer. He’s not new to the game, but he’s got more buzz than ever: A leopard mega-platform wedge boot from his Fall 2009 line caused a frenzy after Rumi Neely sported a pair on her Fashion Toast blog, making the limited-edition shoe an instant must-have. The latest looks from Ashish for Topshop—launching online February 3 and available at Topshop’s Soho flagship soon after—should be equally coveted by the style-blog set. A cropped knotted sweatshirt and spike-studded moto jacket are standouts, and his gold woven triple-buckled platform sandal is a worthy, and equally gravity-defying, update of last season’s hit.

  1. I’m not sure if the platform sandal is comfortable for your feet but it looks like a must have for a lot of woman. And probably affordable for the average woman too. I’m not so fond of all the guest designers which there where like Mr. Lagerfeld, Victor & Rolf and Cavalli etc but I like some shoes or better said accessories of Topshop. Arrivederci

  2. The part sneaker, part woven vamp doesn’t appeal much to me!
