Ralph On The Alps
To call Ralph Lauren’s new St. Moritz location a “store” is a bit of a misnomer: The sprawling retail outlet, with limestone floors, polished white lacquer, rich cherry walls, and teak ceilings, is more like a Lauren compound, complete with a standalone watch boutique (hey, this is Switzerland). It’s not easy to impress the bijou ski town’s spend-happy community of European and Arab royals, international jetsetters, and Russian oligarchs, but Ralph’s certainly given it the old college try. One famous neighbor—Tyler Brûlé, of Wallpaper and Monocle—hosted the opening bash at King’s Club at Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, where the Swedish chanteuse Titiyo serenaded the crowd. This being St. Moritz, that included everyone from Ernesto Ducati to online retailer Fam Botsche of www.mytheresa.com. What better way to ring in the winter ski—that is, shopping—season?
