She Loves Rock ‘N’ Roll

For this month’s beauty icon, we paid tribute to one of punk’s leading ladies: Joan Jett, the L.A. girl who could rock as hard as any of the boys—and look better than most of ‘em doing it. (We’re predicting a revival of the Jett shag when Kristen Stewart plays Joan onscreen later this year.) The photos tell part of the story, but to get it in surround sound, you need to see the lady herself in gritty, balls-to-the-wall action, as at this live performance in New Jersey, 1983 (below). “Only two words,” Jett growls at the crowd. “Oh. Yeah.” Couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

I was there in 1982! And I still love this woman as much as ever. Along with Patti Smith, Joan is one of the best live rock and rollers out there.

Joan Jett is a passionate performer and she looks sometimes a bit drained. Joan should keep the passion but she should wear ThinnyHairHolder hair accessory for hair volume in her hair so her hair stays full when she performs. She can perform passionately with ThinnyHairHolder and avoid the “just worked out and drained look”. I like her very much.

Wow can’t wait to see that movie!

Me neither! Although I’m not sure about Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett…hmmm I guess we’ll see. I’m liking the choice of her as a style icon instead of the obvious, almost-clicheed choices like Jackie O, Audrey Hepburn, Jane Birkin, etc etc.
