Yay, Nay, Or Eh: It’s The Great Pumpkin, Amber Valletta?

-------

Can you name your favorite red-carpet moment involving an orange dress? Neither can we. Colors commonly associated with gourds are not exactly the most wearable tones, which is why we’ve got to give Amber Valletta credit for pulling off this safety-orange-hued RM by Roland Mouret frock for the premiere of The Spy Next Door. (She stars in the movie opposite Jackie Chan.) The sharp shoulder and body-con fit are decidedly of-the-moment, but the playful shade keeps the look from coming across too seriously. Our verdict: perfect for a kid-friendly event (if you’re a supermodel, that is). What do you think? Would you step out à l’orange?

    No comment, but high hopes!

Consider the burning wonder Iris Stubegger floated for Bottega Veneta [Spring, 2010 RTW]. That orange eve works with red – like flames on embers and a field of Moroccan poppies at sunset…

I agree with the girls at GoFugYourself, she looks great, but the bust of the dress is too tight!! Although, honestly, I like that Amber Valetta is not looking perfect for a photo-op movie premier thing. I once wore a killer black mesh dress with nude underwear that TOTALLY showed up in every photo because of the flash. Glad that I only have to worry about not having poppy seeds and spinach in my teeth on a daily basis, and not ending up on the “Fashion don’t” page

i agree not everyone could pull off a color like that, but the great ms amber valletta clearly can, and more important is the elegant tailoring – i don’t think dresses so short are too tasteful for formal events, but ms. valletta is hardly in the minority there – i would rather her in that absolutely epic thing she wore for the absolutely epic dior couture fall 2007 – lol – http://www.style.com/fashionshows/complete/slideshow/F2007CTR-CDIOR?event=show1603&designer=design_house27&trend=&iphoto=13 \,,/

What about Charlize Theron’s orange Vera Wang at 2000 Oscars?? Perfection! -YAY

I really like it, orange isn’t a fashionable color but Ms. Valetta proofs that it can be worn by just the right person. The tailoring and shape of the (mini)dress is fabulous just like Ms. Amber Valetta is. Actually I find that she is very brave and a trendsetter with some of her outfits. We’ve seen all the common colors to often, Red, Black, Blue and so on, this color is very welcomed by me. At last someone who dares to wear a different color then the average celeb does. Bravo Ms. Valetta

Brava Amber!!!! Finally a touch of originality with an unusual color, the minidress is gorgeous on her perfect body and the zip on the back is very sexy!!!
