Yea, Nay, Or Eh? ScarJo Gets Serious

Scarlett Johansson’s va-va-voom physique and Dolce & Gabbana’s seductive eveningwear are a match made in fashion heaven. We’re not surprised that the actress—who also served as the face of the brand’s beauty campaign last year—went with her old stand-by for the premiere of A View From the Bridge. Johansson clearly wanted a more mature look for her Broadway debut, but we don’t think it’s working. The combination of conservatively cut neckline, three-quarter-length sleeves, pencil skirt, and splashy floral pattern seems better suited for a woman with a bit more life experience. We’re happy she kept her “assets” (ahem) under cover, but wonder what else the starlet could have worn to strike a better balance between serious and youthful. Any suggestions?

This look is absolutly digusting. Its to old for her. Get rid of the dress sleeves and make it a halter top. Make the skirt piece more flowey and thigh high with a little thicker tied waist band. Put some black cloth strapey heels on. Take away that necklace and giver her a bracelet.

I think the Print is too busy, This silhouette in a neutral black , a good belt and red color stilettos.. would suit better , Definately hair down and no necklace , she is beautiful and young, and should not wear things that add age.

This is awful, is she trying to look like a member of the Royal Family of England?

    Must be the picture…

From where I am standing, the dress looks like something grandmother would have sought too gaudy for her – the cut looks like her dresses, but not the darn print. I would like to think she wouldn’t have touched the thing.

On anoter hand, the dress would have been great on our gardener lady!

Of course, this is just what a picture shows. I am sure that the fabric and the master cut look better in person then anything either grandmother or gardener might have worn. Watever detail makes this into couture, it is too subtle for the camera. Or myself.

Thanks for the bit of nostalgia, however… I had forgotten of a certain pair of green shoes!
