Yea, Nay, Or Eh?: Top Of The Ops

January 21, 2010  4:00 pm

Do not adjust your set: That’s just British soap star Zoë Lister’s eye-popping Alexander McQueen dress, from the designer’s Op Art-inspired Resort collection. We’ve got to hand it to the Hollyoaks star, who chose McQueen for last night’s National Television Awards in her native Britain: She’s certainly going bold with Spring’s pattern trend, and she deserves credit for dialing down her accessories to let her dress take center stage. All of that said, with a print that bold, it’s hard to say if Lister is wearing the dress or the dress is wearing her. What do you think: Is the actress’ outfit a sight for sore eyes, or just an eyesore?

  1. I personally love this print and the dress, I’m not into the accessories, but the make up looks great.

  3. I like that she took a risk, I think that it kind of works i agree with ToucanBoutique that the make-up looks nice but the shoes need to match the power of the dress.

  4. For me it’s a Nay! I like loud patterns but this one hurts the eyes.

  5. that one is really smashing - the great mr. alexander mcqueen has an extraordinary sense of color, and the lines are cut beautifully to follow the hues

  6. I think the dress would look better shorter … and with white pumps. Bring on the kitsch!

  7. I think the dress is great but I would prefer it on someone with more height. The hair is too golden, lips too red, accessories too black. I think a girl with a casual/younger style would pull it off better.

  9. I am sorry for her. She look like a “Don´t go in the middle” traffic-sign…

  14. Love it! But that’s just me, because anything McQueen involved gets me so easy.
And I say the dress is not wearing her, there is a balance on it, bacause after all, you don’t wear McQueen and expect it not to steal the half of your spotlight.
