Luigi Maramotti’s dinner at Bistrot Giacomo for Zoe Saldana, marking her selection as MaxMara’s “Face of the Future,” was a low-key affair. But that was just the way Saldana wanted it: nothing overwhelming, something family-oriented. The immediate-family element came courtesy of Luigi and his sister-in-law Nicola. Zoe brought her extended family: publicist, press agent, stylist, and longtime boyfriend Keith Britton, who is aiming to streamline fashion-industry connectivity with his new database MyFDB.com. Then there was the fashion family: Allure’s Linda Wells, Glamour’s Cindi Leive, Vanity Fair’s Michael Roberts. MaxMara’s devilish publicist Giorgio Guidotti’s tip for an icebreaker? “Sex talk always makes people friendly.” Given that Saldana’s possible co-star in her upcoming film is either Chris Evans or Bradley Cooper, I wish I’d been at that end of the table.
