On Our Radar: LnA Tees

March 15, 2010  2:47 pm

One very good way to make your name in New York: throw one of fashion week’s best parties and get Patti Smith to headline (and rasp out a McQueen tribute while she’s at it). One very good way to keep your name there: make the clothes that everyone wants to wear. LnA may be L.A.-based, but I’d say they’ve got the right idea for East Coast expansion. Designers Lauren Alexander and April Leight have expanded their basics collection for guys and girls this season to include leggings, outerwear, and even a few affordable leathers, but the tees that made their name out west are still the bread and butter of the line. There are plenty of T-shirts out there, but LnA’s can go toe to toe with the best of ‘em, and this season, they come in a couple graphic versions, too. Call it the “Telephone” effect if you must, but I’m feeling the black and white prison stripe, in a front-pocket pullover for me and a slouchy button-down for you ladies.
