A New Eyewear Collection Ready For Its Close-up

No question, photographer Dusan Reljin has a good eye—he’s shot for just about every fashion magazine you could name, from Dazed to V and just about everyone in between. And a good eye deserves good accessories, which Selima Optique’s Selima Salaun is only too happy to provide. Reljin and Salaun first met years ago over a pair of specs, and their mutual respect has come together in a capsule collection (a first, it goes without saying, for the lensman). The hand-cut Mazzuchelli acetate frames come in optical and sunglass models in four styles. “I was like a kid discovering Legos for the first time,” Reljin said, of jumping into the design process. At a preview this morning, the photographer was wearing a pair of slightly squashed round frames in a smoky, clear plastic (the same shape as the top pair above), but we’re just as partial to the squared-off version (middle) and a futuristic spin on the aviator. They’ll be available in two weeks at Selima Optique’s Bond Street store, which, we discovered this morning, also boasts a trove of vintage Lanvin scarves, Hermès luggage, and Chanel wallets.

$385, available next month at Bond 07 by Selima, (212) 677-8487.
