Fresh From The Feed

June 7, 2010  2:09 pm

Style.com’s Fashion Feed brings you the best of the news around the Web and on Twitter, and ranks the most-discussed designers, labels, models, and celebrities. In our weekly series, we call out the top five designers of the previous week (with our handy gloss on the hows and whys).

1. Karl Lagerfeld (pictured, with Nicolas Sarkozy; last week: 5)
The newly minted Legionnaire’s old photos of Claudia Schiffer in blackface and an Afro wig sent him to the top of the charts.

2. Alexander Wang (last week: N/A)
Word of Wang’s upcoming, standalone store kept the downtown darling (and multiple CFDA award nominee) top of mind.

3. Victoria Beckham (last week: 3)
Even without a fashion collection, VB wouldn’t be far from the lenses of the paps, who obsessively document her airport connections and Pinkberry visits. You might think she was never anywhere but one of those two places—though we learned last week that she’s also been spending some time studying with the master tailors on Savile Row.

4. Marc Jacobs (last week: 2)
Our new Marc Jacobs video kept the wires humming. Marc’s boyfriend, Lorenzo, and his new swimsuit collection didn’t hurt, either.

5. Alexander McQueen (last week: 1)
Two McQueen gowns from Fall 2007 are headed for the auction block in London later this month. Listen closely and you can hear hundreds of piggy banks worldwide being smashed.
