Ghesquière’s A Star, Jacobs’ Excellent New Store, The Supes Vs. La Gaga, And More…

Welcome to the constellation, Nicolas Ghesquière: The Balenciaga designer will be honored with the Fashion Group International’s Superstar award this October. [WWD]

Speaking of awards, the newest Marc Jacobs store has already won one, and it’s not even open yet! The new MJ Collection flagship building in Tokyo’s Aoyama (rendering pictured at left), designed by Stephan Jaklitsch Architects, has earned an Award of Excellence from the American Institute of Architects. Its opening is planned for the fall. [WWD]

Calvin may have been key to the whole waif trend, but just ask current Calvin Klein Collection creative director Francisco Costa: It’s over. “She is very current, very beautiful, and very womanly,” he says of Lara Stone, who will helm all of the Klein universe’s Fall advertising. “It’s time for that persona and for that body. She’s divine, gorgeous, and we will support her in that.” [Vogue U.K.]
