Karl Dreams Of Lions, The Rise Of The Bleisure Suit, And More…

July 8, 2010  11:48 am

Meet Stéfan Lubrina, the man who makes Karl’s dreams come to life. No, really: Karl dreams of couture shows presided over by giant golden lions; Lubrina builds them (pictured). [IHT]

Here’s the 411: Mary J. Blige is launching eyewear. [WWD]

The World Cup comes to an end this Sunday, and Shakira is on hand to perform the official song, “Waka-Waka,” for its closing ceremony. She’ll be wearing Cavalli for the occasion—a pearl-embroidered tulle top, a silk fringed skirt, and a denim belt. [Vogue U.K.]

The final word on the men’s shows? “Bleisure.” That’s business + leisure, i.e., looks that are polished enough to be office-ready but casual enough to be comfortable—think Cary Grant in the off-hours. Somehow the term “bleisure” has a little less unforced cool than, say, Cary Grant, but we guess it’s better than “professual,” which apparently it edged out. [WSJ]

And the Emmy nominations are out! It’s a good morning if you’re in the cast of Glee, Lost, or happen to be Tina Fey. But we think every morning’s probably a good morning if you happen to be Tina Fey. [Gawker]
