Surf’s Up At The Webster
The craze for surfing—or, at the very least, its stylish accoutrements—has taken hold coast to coast of late, but Miami’s got a better claim on wave-rider style than many other locales: It’s hard to get closer to the water. Starting this week, surfin’ birds down south can head to Miami’s the Webster, which is opening Surf the Webster, a shop-in-shop stocked with the fashion world’s best beach-ready gear. There’s swimwear from Lisa Marie Fernandez, Sundek, and Tori Praver (above right); clothes and gear from Saturdays, New York’s surf store du jour; accessories from Fouta (above left); and even a board, made exclusively for the Webster by Baron Wells. A portion of the proceeds from sales goes to the Surfrider Foundation, too. All that’s missing: lessons. But dressing the part has got to be at least half the battle.
Tori Praver bikini top, $105, and bottom, $85, and Fouta beach blanket, $126, available at Surf the Webster, opens tomorrow and stays up through the summer at the Webster, 1220 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, (305) 674-7899, www.thewebstermiami.com.
