Weigh In On The Wedding Of The Weekend

She came, she saw, she married. After weeks of harried speculation—on everything from the dress to the guest list—Chelsea Clinton married Marc Mezvinsky in Rhinebeck, New York, this weekend. And despite early rumors of a dress by Oscar de la Renta (it was Hillary, the mother of the bride, who went the ODLR route), Clinton walked down the aisle in a strapless, full-skirted silk tulle and laser-cut organza gown by Vera Wang, with a blusher veil and open-toed shoes. (Marc, father of the bride Bill, and the groomsmen wore tuxes designed by Burberry’s Christopher Bailey, also a wedding guest.) Numerologists can debate the details—astrologer Susan Miller indulged in some planetary hand-wringing via Twitter, and pop culturites noted that another famous daughter, Lisa Simpson, was to be the weekend’s other bride—but we’ll confine ourselves to that dress. Ask us, and it was a pretty, proper, elegant choice—very Chelsea, in other words. What do you think? Did you like the look, or would you prefer something more unexpected?

Beautiful. The skirt is so unique, yet the overall look is classically elegant. Pulling it off so well with the entire country watching is unexpected enough.
I love love love the look! Vera Wang is the master of wedding dresses and this one is truly exquisite, I don’t think she could have made a better decision.
While the dress is lovely, when is the strapless wedding gown trend going to end? They remind me of prom dresses.
i cant help but find her look (so illuminating!) to come secondary in comparison to the statement she makes as a person “…pretty, proper, elegant”!
Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Simply Perfect!
It is so good to see a beautiful bride so elegant, in a romantic and classic dress, of extremely good taste! A perfect look in every detail.
