Fantastic News: Little Britain Duo As Lagerfeld/YSL?

Fantastic Man, the charming if occasionally mannered menswear publication, always manages to surprise. Its autumn/winter edition, on discerning newsstands now, is no exception. Trust its sharp-eyed editors, Jop van Bennekom and Gert Jonkers, to spot that David Walliams, the British comedian, is a Tom Ford fanatic. Walliams, perhaps best known here for his cross-dressing “I’m a lady” character on HBO’s Little Britain USA and for his marriage to the model Lara Stone, looks nothing short of dapper, wearing his own Ford clothes in Alasdair McLellan’s black-and-white photo shoot. The accompanying interview also contains this gem: Walliams would like to star with his equally brilliant comedy partner Matt Lucas in a film adaptation of The Beautiful Fall, Alicia Drake’s book about the rivalry between Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent. It may be only a dream at this point, but that would be fantastic.
