Turn On Your Brights
Sometimes, trends that make a bright start in New York fade by the time the shows reach Europe, like brash Americans snubbed by their continental cousins. But that’s not the case with the brilliant fluoro tones that lit up Spring ’11 in NYC (at Prabal Gurung, below right, and Proenza Schouler, below center). Vivid, neon colors—most especially hazard orange, often paired with tense aqua blues and shocking pinks—have hit the runways in London (at Jonathan Saunders, above left, and Christopher Kane, below left) and now in Milan at Gucci (above right). Not recommended for the faint of heart.
