Under Lock And Key

Now on his second season designing for Japan’s pearl-centric Tasaki jewelry line, Thakoon is coming into his own. His new collection for Fall ’10 keeps the pearls front and center, but adds vintage details like bangle clasps inspired by an antique door lock, and, for a series of gold and pearl necklaces, tiny padlocks shut up with attached keys. Count among its fans Inez and Vinoodh, who shot the new pieces—which, with their pale, simple chic, would look great with Thakoon’s own Spring ’11 collection—on Dree Hemingway, above. They’re not the only ones. Buyers are responding, too. The collection will now be available in the U.S. in addition to Japan, at Bergdorf Goodman, The Webster, and Forty Five Ten.
