And The Oscar Nominees Are…

This morning, the 83rd annual Academy Award nominations were announced. You can bet Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, James Franco, and Jesse Eisenberg are all having a pretty good day. There weren’t too many surprises among the nominations, though there were a few notable shut-outs, like Julianne Moore in The Kids Are All Right and Mila Kunis in Black Swan, both of who got Globe nods. And of note for the fashion set is the Best Costume Design nomination for the Milan-based melodrama I Am Love (above), with costumes by Antonella Cannarozzi, that counts Silvia Venturini Fendi among its producers. Wonderful selections. I know it’s unlikely, but I truly believe Hailee Steinfeld should win Best Supporting Actress. She gave a phenomenal performance.
