According to a former North Korean official quoted in a South Korean newspaper, a recent portrait of Kim Jong-il’s son, Kim Jong-un, wearing the same furry hat as his father means that he’s the next in line for command. “The hat was customized by a foreign master craftsman using top-quality otter fur,” Chosun Ilbo has it. “It’s an unwritten rule that nobody else can wear such a hat , so if Kim Jong-un is also wearing one, it means he has now reached almost the same status as his father.” [Gawker via Racked]
