Anne Hathaway: Hostess With The Mostest?

It wasn’t just Anne Hathaway’s caffeinated performance as this year’s Oscars co-host—a peppy, giggly turn that smirking pundits are already suggesting was amped up to balance James Franco’s lethargic cool-guy bit, borrowed, it seemed, from Pineapple Express—that caught viewers’ attention last night. It was also her ricocheting costume changes: seven in all during the course of the show.

Anne began the night in a crystal-embellished white gown from Givenchy Haute Couture (left). From there, she went for a one-button Lanvin tuxedo, with Swarovski-embellished Brian Atwood pumps (below left). Vivienne Westwood Couture is responsible for the greenish-gray strapless number—overtones of Black Swan, we thought—that came up next (below right).

From there, it was a hop and a jump—make that a shake, which she demonstrated onstage—to a beaded, fringed one-shoulder Oscar de la Renta gown (below left). Then on to a winey Atelier Versace gown with embroidered bodice that she later wore to Vanity Fair‘s epic after-party (below right).

The longtime Armani girl wore a shimmering, off-the-shoulder Armani Privé in deep blue next (below left), and ended the night (or the telecast, at least), in a smoky, crystal-studded Tom Ford, with high neck and long sleeves (below right).

Which of Hathaway’s looks—including the red, asymmetrical Valentino Haute Couture that she selected for the red carpet—did you like best?

Loved the Armani Privé and tux!

I’m amazed at how many changes you got. The wine colored Versace was the dress that she suited the most, however it’s not exactly the dress that would have gained her the most attention. In the end she must understand what looks best on her otherwise she wouldn’t have warn the bodice of her outfit to the after-party. So in my eyes she4 got it right.

i loved the first gown, by gyvenchy…and fell asleep to see beyond the beaded one. lol but i think the atelier versace looked stunning on her. that color blended perfectly with anne´s skin and hair tones. she looked very excited to be there which makes her a regular person, i like that mundane characteristic… i mean its the oscars right?

I totally loved the white gown from Givenchy. It was very chic and it suits in the night! Also a great selection for her young age and her slim body was the winey atelier Versace which was a real masterpiece.
