Tory Burch’s Fashion Week Diary

In the lead-up to New York fashion week, designers go through hundreds of behind-the-scenes preparations to arrive at the completed show. This NYFW, we’ve sweet-talked a few of them into giving us an exclusive peek behind the curtain as they cast, score, style, and ready their presentations. First up: Tory Burch.

“We had model castings all day on Saturday and Sunday. We must have seen 100 girls walk.”

“With stylist Tabitha Simmons working on the finer points of a complete exit. Sometimes we’re asking ourselves about the tiniest details up until the last second.”

“Our hair and makeup test—we usually err on the side of less-is-more on the face. We are in good hands with Odile Gilbert and Diane Kendal.”

“Taking a break to check in with my boys. The hardest part of fashion week is not being at home with them at night.”

“I’m obsessed with finding the right music for the presentation. This season we’re leaning towards hip-hop.”

There are some people where you feel so happy for their success and Tory Burch is one of them- to say nothing of her wearable and vibrant aesthetic.
