In anticipation of this year’s Costume Institute show, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, Tim Blanks takes readers on a trip through the history of McQueen’s collections, from the infamous Highland Rape to the mind-altering Plato’s Atlantis. Seeing the still photos is, even now, a breathtaking experience—and seeing the collections on video is another. Style.com sent video teams to document McQueen’s Paris shows, from behind-the-scenes hair and beauty to the gobsmacked reactions of the front row. Below, we’ve the greatest hits of our videos made during McQueen’s lifetime, from Fall 2006 through Spring 2010. And above, one of his most famous moments caught on video: the holographic Kate Moss appearing over his Fall 2006 show.
