Alexander Wang, The Flash Sale

Deeply discounted online flash sales tend to be the purview of e-tailers like Gilt, Rue La La, and’s new Myhabit, but Alexander Wang is entering the arena on his own steam. This morning, Wang launched a promotion on his Web site to allow dedicated fans to sign up to receive details about his new e-commerce sale—one that slashes prices by up to 50 percent on Spring accessories, ready-to-wear, and T by Alexander Wang. The private sale lasts only 72 hours, so if you’re yearning for Wang’s Spring ’11 Tempest sandal (40 percent off its usual retail price of $650) or the Ryan clutch (a full half off its regular $725 price), make tracks. Well, virtual ones.

This is exciting beyond belief! I hope this proves profitable for him… but I’m sure what he is concerned with most is his audience. I am certain he would love to see his wares on girls who may not have the means but rather the innate sense of style required to properly carry it off! All too often, the girls with the dollars aren’t the ones with the taste… don’t make me mention names!
