Carine’s Latest Project, Gaga Wants Her Name Back, Fashion Week’s Weirdest Dresses, And More…

Carine Roitfeld has confirmed she is set to make her return to the magazine world. The former Vogue Paris editor will launch a magazine next September in the U.K. [Telegraph]

Someone other than Lady Gaga is trying to stake a claim to the Gaga name? It appears so. The marketing firm Excite Worldwide LCC has applied to trademark “Lady Gaga” and “Lady Gaga Fame,” which could basically mean Gaga isn’t able “to register her own marks for beauty products and jewelry,” WWD reports. This week, the pop star filed a lawsuit against Excite. [WWD]

What’s to come for Dior tomorrow? Hats by Stephen Jones, bright pops of color, and a strong dose of reality. Acting creative director Bill Gaytten tells the Telegraph, “It’s definitely more about reality than fantasy. The fantasy narrative was very John.” As for the news everyone has been waiting for, he says, “My lips are sealed, but all will be revealed.” [Telegraph]

The weirdest fashion news of the day: Dresses made out of cow (and a few yak) nipples set to show at Paris fashion week are causing quite a stir. Brit fashion designer Rachel Freire already showed the dresses made from 3,000 nipples during London fashion week, and animal rights activists are not pleased, to say the least. “If people don’t have a problem with leather, they shouldn’t have a problem with these designs,” the designer says.
