Alexander Wang’s French Corner

Today’s announcement from Paris explains why Alexander Wang was busy running around town during Paris fashion week. No, he’s not the new head of Dior (as of yet); he’s set to open his biggest French retail space ever in a corner of the Paris flagship of Printemps next to brands like Miu Miu, Alexander McQueen, and Gucci.

His 420-square-foot corner opening the first week of November is the first of several coming up, including his first overseas flagship set to bow in Beijing next year and several shop-in-shops popping up throughout Asia in the coming months. While he’s busy as ever expanding, he hasn’t ruled out new opportunities.

“If I was to do something else, I would want to do something that would be completely different from me,” he says, remaining tight-lipped about any definite plans for the near future. “Sometimes you don’t get to say all you want to say in your brand.”
