Chris Burch’s Big C. Wonder Bows In Soho

The promos for Christopher Burch’s new concept retailer C. Wonder talk a big game: “You’ve waited your whole life for this!” But at last night’s opening party for the 5,000-square-foot flagship in Soho, there was plenty to be excited about. C. Wonder offers a full spread of brightly colored merch (the electric green, lacquered doors serve as an indicator)—clothing, accessories, and home decor for “the working mother who deserves to indulge,” as Burch told

Everything in the store has a decidedly preppy feel, from the printed button-ups to the grosgrain dog leashes, and can be monogrammed or engraved on the spot. (Burch showed off his own initials on the pair of velvet slippers he was sporting.) Taking customization one step further, shoppers can also adjust the music and lighting in the dressing rooms. But for all the custom options, the prices stay firmly within reach. The average hovers under $40. C. Wonder’s is slated to open three other locations in the tri-state area this fall, and Burch has further expansion plans for next year. Those who can’t wait can try out e-commerce, which will go live in the next few days at

C. Wonder is now open at 72 Spring St., NYC,

Shopped at The Westchester “C” for the first time on Xmas Eve with my daughter. Love everything there. You thought of everything for the busy working Mum who deserves to indulge! Jeta Gjakova was our assistant and I must say that she was able to tell me all about the company, was well versed on the merchandise and helped me with my purchases. I’m an administrator in my business (not retail) I would suggest you train her for a managerial position.
