As far as coveted calendars go, Pirelli is still the pinnacle, but it’s facing ever tougher competition from the oversized version put out annually by the Italian spirit Campari. The liquor label has tapped its fair share of gorgeous women (and one man—Benicio Del Toro) to take a starring role, and this year, Milla Jovovich joins a pantheon that has included Salma Hayek, Jessica Alba, and Eva Mendes. French photographer Dimitri Daniloff shot the calendar, called “It’s the End of the World, Baby!”
If Campari is the official drink of End Times, its dress code is full-on couture. Jovovich wears gowns by Stéphane Rolland, Yann Weber, and Walter Steiger for the shoot. If the grim theme got her down, she isn’t telling. “Representing all the different ways the world could come to an end through beautiful images is amazing,” Jovovich told Style.com. She was on hand in Milan last night to fête the calendar’s launch. A lucky 9,999 patrons and friends of Campari will receive it in hard copy; the rest can content themselves with a few exclusive behind-the-scenes shots of Milla dolling up for the deluge.
