René Gruau’s Works Go Up For Auction, Miuccia Prada Adds A New Jewel (Or Two) To Her Crown, A Heelless Shoe Exhibition By Comme Des Garçons, And More…

-------

A collection of works by haute couture illustrator René Gruau, who worked with major houses like Christian Dior, Balenciaga, and Balmain, is on the chopping block today at a Christie’s London auction. The pieces, commissioned by the influential fashion editor Fleur Cowles, are in the auction house’s Twentieth-Century Decorative Art & Design auction. [Telegraph]

Miuccia Prada is set to add jewelry to her fashion empire. In November, Prada will launch a capsule collection of bracelets, necklaces, brooches, and rings, ranging in style from rock ‘n’ roll gloss crocodile bracelets to opulent, sparkly pendants. [WWD]

It’s looking like the most chic Halloween costume this year is going to be a vampire. Inspired by the blood-chilling looks at Carine Roitfeld’s bal des vampires in Paris, The New York Times has a few costume suggestions to help you out. [NYT]

Noritaka Tatehana’s heelless shoe collection is rarely spotted outside of Tokyo (except on Lady Gaga’s feet), but thanks to a partnership with Comme des Garçons, her shoes will be on display in Paris, London, and Tokyo for a three-part exhibition. Her new red collection, her latest black collection, and archival pieces will on display. [Hint]
