Modelinia’s 2011 Style Awards

The Golden Globe and SAG nominations have been announced, and now, in the spirit of awards season, Modelinia has handed out a few honors of its own to this year’s hottest catwalkers. For its first-ever Style Awards, Modelinia judged models in five categories: Hottest Red Look, Biggest Risk Taker, Best Red Carpet Glam, Best Accessorizer, and Best Model Off-Duty. Model-of-the-moment Karlie Kloss came out on top in the red dress category, beating industry veterans like Gisele Bündchen and Miranda Kerr, for the Jason Wu gown she wore to this year’s CFDA Awards. (Though Kloss’ dress was definitely the biggest standout in the group, it seems like Natalia Vodianova should have at least made the list for the dramatic Valentino dress she wore to her annual Love Ball). In the off-runway category, Joan Smalls beat Kate Moss, which didn’t surprise us: We’re still gushing over Smalls’ denim-on-denim at the Spring shows. But we are curious why some of our favorites, Frida Gustavsson and Caroline Brasch Nielsen, were left off that list altogether. See who made the cut, below. And check Style File next Thursday for our favorite model-off-duty looks of the year.
