Duckies in the Wild
Guerrilla is the way to go for Duckie Brown’s Steven Cox and Daniel Silver, who eschew advertising and press in the promotion of their decade-old menswear label. But attention is being paid—this year, they were nominated for the CFDA’s top menswear trophy—and the past few seasons have seen them approach branding their way: with a series of seasonal poster campaigns around New York City. The latest, for their standout Fall 2013 collection, hit the streets yesterday. Photographer Matin Zad shot the photo, and the buzz currently surrounding him suggests that the Duckies have an eye for under-the-radar talent: He’s currently a finalist for the New Exposure photography competition, which is sponsored by Bottega Veneta and Vogue. Meanwhile, Duckie Brown’s Spring 2014 show takes the runway this afternoon.
