Rita Ora Joins Kanye and Pharrell on Team Adidas

Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Mary Katrantzou…and now Rita Ora. WWD broke the news today that the British pop singer will be the latest female artist collaborator for Adidas. Her line of footwear, apparel, outerwear, and accessories will start rolling out on August 21 and run for three seasons until Fall 2015. “I’m a massive fan of the brand,” Ora told WWD. “I grew up working at a sneaker store when I was 16 and am a huge sneakerhead. It’s so cool that I’m able to do this with a brand that I sold when I was younger.” Ora has become ubiquitous of late, thanks to four No. 1 singles in the U.K. and her distinct personal style—a flashy mix of streetwear and high fashion. She’s joining an already stacked roster of designers at Adidas, which includes fashion heavyweights Rick Owens, Raf Simons, and Jeremy Scott. Is she up to the challenge? “I always come from the approach that they are designers and I am an artist,” she told WWD. “The biggest advice that [Adidas] said is to be yourself and be confident in what you’re doing and confident in what you wear.”
