Thomas Tait, Vika Gazinskaya, And Calla Haynes Make The ANDAM Finalist List

-------

ANDAM’s 24-judge panel announced the six finalists for this year’s Fashion Award. On the list: Thomas Tait (who also took home the prestigious Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize in 2010 ); up-and-comer Julien David; Calla Haynes (who has been nominated for the ANDAM before); designer-slash-street-style-star Vika Gazinskaya; Cedric Charlier; and Nicolas Andreas Taralis. The judges, a group that includes Style.com’s executive editor Nicole Phelps, Humberto Leon, Emmanuelle Alt, The Daily Telegraph fashion editor Lisa Armstrong, and Virginie Mouzat, will meet in July with the finalists to select the winner. The prize, which has previously gone to the likes of Hakaan Yildirim, Giles Deacon, and last year, Anthony Vaccarello, is a total of €600,000, €10,000 worth of Swarovski crystals to use for their Spring 2013 collection, mentorship from LVMH CEO Pierre-Yves Roussel, and support from the Hudson’s Bay Company to buy the Spring 2013 collection. Stay tuned for the winner, to be announced this summer. All six of them, however, will have a space on www.thecorner.com in September to showcase and sell their collections. Nominations Definite (The Maggies!) And Indefinite (ANDAM?), Liberty For Lads, And More…

-------

Are this year’s ANDAM nominations in? The ANDAM site says no, but Bryan Boy says yes. If he’s on to something, congrats to Mark Fast, Francesco Scognamiglio, Bouchra Jarrar (whose debut couture collection is pictured, left), Calla Haynes, Hakaan Yildrim, and Alexandre Vauthier. Carine Roitfeld will chair the judging panel, which will also include Alber Elbaz, the Telegraph‘s Hilary Alexander, Colette’s Sarah Lerfel, Jefferson Hack, and Humberto Leon. [Fashionista]

Rumor has it that Calvin Klein is launching its new fragrance, Beauty, for the over-40 set, but at a recent party to fête the scent, forgot to invite editors from magazines like More and Redbook that cater to said set. Teen Vogue, on the other hand, was represented. [WWD]

Nominations for England’s Maggie Awards—which are given for the best magazine covers—are in. Go to the Maggies site to cast your vote for the best fashion cover. Lara Stone (for Vogue U.K.), Sienna Miller (for GQ U.K.), and Uma Thurman (for Harper’s Bazaar U.K.) are among the cover stars who grace the glossies. [Maggies]

And speaking of the U.K., swinging dandies will soon have another sartorial option: Liberty is launching its own branded menswear label. Florals a-go-go, baby! [WWD]
