In 1989, when Madonna sang “Express Yourself,” what she really meant was “Vide Ton Sac.” Well, sort of. The French term for airing your opinion about a matter you feel strongly about is also a literal command to “empty your bag.” Doing a little of both this week is Paule Ka founder and frontman Serge Cajfinger, whose interest in women and the contents of their handbags has spurred a series of short films based upon his new Cabas Ka accessory collection. Featuring an array of actresses, among them French favorites Cécile Cassel and Emma de Caunes, each of the short films uncovers a plethora of the practical (and not so practical) necessities that women haul around with them. The film will be screened on Tuesday evening in Paris to celebrate the brand’s Rue Saint-Honoré store opening and will be available the following day at www.pauleka.com.
