New models’ careers are often made on the runways, but posing for pre-fall lookbooks can really build up a girl’s momentum. Several fresh faces in particular have been making waves this season. First up is Tilda Lindstam, whose star continues to rise. Casting directors’ favorite Swede-of-the-moment walked down the runway at Oscar de la Renta and Calvin Klein, and also appeared in lookbooks for A-list labels like Givenchy, Acne and Prabal Gurung. Meanwhile, pouty French beauty Marine Deleeuw, one of Spring’s top ten catwalk rookies, showed off her editorial chops at Cßline, Lanvin, Narciso Rodriguez, Rag & Bone, Donna Karan, and Barbara Bui. Another up-and-comer who’s made an impact over the past several weeks is redhead Magdalena Jasek. She recently scored the Louis Vuitton Spring campaign, walked in Calvin Klein’s show, and turned up on the pages of lookbooks for Cßline, Thakoon Addition, and Escada. Finally, we can’t get enough of Valery Kaufman. The model debuted at Alexander Wang’s Spring ’12 show, logged an impressive number of Spring ’13 runways, and really hit her stride during pre-fall, posing for 3.1 Phillip Lim, Narciso Rodriguez, and Carven. Be sure to keep an eye out for these ladies on the Fall ’13 catwalks—the shows start February 7.
Many of us here at Style.com are focused on streamlining our wardrobes with pared-down pieces for 2013. But the showy street-style set? Not so much. For those looking to attract the attention of Tommy Ton and Co. at the collections next month, more will still be more, particularly when it comes to accessories. Chanel’s oversize hula-hoop bag, the Alexander McQueen beekeeper hats, and Miuccia Prada’s towering Geta platforms are just the beginning of Spring’s offerings. How about Stephen Jones’ shattered-glass headpieces for Giles? Or the fabulously rococo bow-trimmed boots at Meadham Kirchhoff? Either of the above would surely whip the photobloggers into a frenzy. As for the colorful mink pumps Phoebe Philo put on her Céline runway, we’re betting on them as this season’s answer to Balenciaga’s ubiquitous Egyptofunk sweatshirts.

From filmy bra tops to opera coats with the rumpled appeal of bed sheets, there was a delectable boudoir influence at the Spring shows. Channeling Helmut Newton by way of Lillian Bassman, Jason Wu’s slim leather harnesses and corsetry details had editors tweeting “Fifty Shades of Wu.” Still, the overall message was more lady than vamp. Satin slips that hugged the figure in all the right places turned up at Narciso Rodriguez, Rochas, Céline, and Valentino. A handful of times, the spaghetti straps on those numbers fell off the models’ shoulders, but then they’d push them back up again with such come-hither nonchalance, the incidents seemed to have been planned all along. Silky robes at Miu Miu and the Row, and meant-to-be-seen bralettes from Victoria Beckham and Jonathan Saunders rounded out Spring’s lingerie chest.

Lane Crawford, one of the top shopping destinations in the Far East, has a history of tapping top Asian models for its ads, and this season is no different. This time around, the retailer brought on Ming Xi, Xiao Wen Ju, and Wang Xiao to star in its Fall campaign, shot by Nick Knight. Edward Enninful styled the girls wearing the latest designer pieces from Alexander McQueen, Lanvin, Celine, Stella McCartney, Yves Saint Laurent, and more.
“The concept revolves around the idea of three tribes: Hard Leather, Tribal Street Wear, and Geometrics,” Enninful tells Style.com. “I wanted to play with masculine and feminine, androgyny is always a theme that works, and an exaggerated sense of color and proportion always creates exciting imagery.” Here, Style.com has an exclusive first look at the ad images and the accompanying campaign film.
Gaia Repossi (pictured) has a signature style worth coveting—her closet full of Celine, Alexander Wang, and Balenciaga doesn’t hurt either. But when our resident street-style photographer Tommy Ton snapped a picture of the Parisian looking particularly chic in New York City, we couldn’t help but give her a shout-out. From her skin-baring crop top to her downtown-cool Ray-Bans, this is an outfit worth repeating. We’ve rounded up the essentials, now you make it happen.
