Rest In Peace (And Jewels)? A Gothic Display For Daphne Guinness’ New Golden Glove, And More…


Daphne Guinness was “laid in state”—by her friend Gareth Pugh, no less—at a posh London town house to debut her new collaboration with jeweler Shaun Leane, a $1.76 million white gold wristpiece covered in birds made of pavé diamonds. The not-quite-corpse wore an Alexander McQueen one-piece and an antique veil. [WWD]

Her wedding was only over the weekend, but British Vogue is wasting no time in introducing its readers to the newly christened Mrs. Hince, its August issue cover girl. The missus wears Miu Miu for the forties-style shot. [;Vogue U.K.]

Kate’s wasn’t the only big wedding this weekend. Prince Albert II of Monaco got hitched, too, in front of a crowd that included Karl Lagerfeld, Karolina Kurkova, Naomi Campbell, and Nicolas Sarkozy. His bride, South African swimmer Charlene Wittstock, wore Armani Privé. [Elle]

And speaking of Armani, il maestro packed his front row at Couture with some serious star power. Among the oglers at the show, titled Hommage au Japon: Cate Blanchett and Katie Holmes. []

While Kate Middleton puts the U.K.’s finest publications in a tizzy over her confidential dress choice, Charlene Wittstock—the South African Olympian who’s set to wed Albert II, Prince of Monaco—has tapped Giorgio Armani to design her wedding gown. All hail royal disclosure. [People]
