Vivienne Westwood has pledged £1 million to the charity Cool Earth. The group is trying to prevent logging in the rain forests of Borneo, the Congo Basin, and Peru. [Telegraph]

A select group of journalists was invited to the palace Monday night by Queen Elizabeth II for a reception ahead of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations taking place next year. They were greeted at Buckingham Palace by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen. [WWD]

So, Farid and Eric Kee are proposing a tool to measure just how much fashion and beauty images have been edited in an effort to confront concerns about idealized bodies. [NYT]
