Shop The Look: All Stitched Up

When Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez sent an embroidered sateen sweatshirt down the runway for Fall 2012, we could sense a trend brewing. And now that cooler weather is upon us, it seems that the Proenza boys were onto something big. Isabel Marant, Dries Van Noten, and more have also gone the embroidered route when it comes to toppers like crewneck sweatshirts and baseball jackets. We’ve rounded up four of our favorites below.

1. Proenza Schouler quilted sweatshirt, $3,295, available at
2. Emma Cook embellished sweatshirt, $305, available at
3. Dries Van Noten pullover, $1,165, available at
4. Isabel Marant sateen jacket, $1,055, available at

Tropic Thunder

The fashion set has seen its fair share of tropical prints following last summer, when Stella McCartney showed her Hawaiian-infused Resort collection with its colorful palm trees and deck chair stripes. Since then, it seems that almost every designer has caught McCartney’s case of jungle fever—see Joseph Altuzarra’s Spring 2012 show (where the models sauntered through an actual jungle) and Riccardo Tisci’s killer pre-fall looks at Givenchy. At Sydney fashion week, the runway trend hit the streets hard, where a Stella McCartney-clad Yasmin Sewell (pictured, above) caught Tommy Ton’s sartorial eye. With Memorial Day weekend fast approaching, it’s not too late to try the punchy prints on for size. For starters, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorites, below.
