Weekend To Do: Lingerie Pro Kadima

Our mail guy, Wayne, keeps busy. PRs and labels send a ton of books, samples, lookbooks, slightly smushed cupcakes, DVDs, and assorted fashion miscellany each and every day. We don’t report on it all—but we’ll be making an effort to call out some of the best and oddest in a new series.

The new lookbooks from the French lingerie and swim line Eres arrived today in the company of this handsome paddleball set. According to label reps, it won’t be produced for sale—at least not as of press time. Interested parties, start begging your salespeople now.

Eres Returns To New York With A Beach House Of Sorts

Fans of Eres’ haute lingerie and swimwear have been bereft since the label closed all of its standalone New York stores. But the French brand is returning to New York with a new outpost opening tomorrow, one a little closer to the beach. Its new jewel-box shop on East Hampton’s Main Street will stock the full collection of swim and intimates. “I love the chic, laid-back atmosphere,” creative director Valérie Delafosse says of the Hamptons. “It’s very Deauville to me.” You may see more of her on Long Island now that she’s opened her doors. Where? “My favorite beach is Wiborg,” she says. “And I have never skipped a chance to have sunset drinks at Sunset Beach in Shelter Island.”

Eres opens tomorrow at 55 Main Street, Suite 4, East Hampton, N.Y., (631) 604-5544.

Eres Shuts Its Doors, Jason Adds Accessories, Inez Sounds Off, And More…

Lingerie lovers: Run, don’t walk, to Eres stores. The Chanel-owned brand has announced it will shut its standalone retail spaces in the U.S. by August. But don’t worry too much—the line (pictured, left, with Chanel in the Karl Lagerfeld-shot co-branded campaign) will still be available in the U.S. at forthcoming shop-in-shops. [WWD]

Meanwhile, Lacoste is going deeper into the U.S. market. Its new, younger-skewing Lacoste Live brand will bow first with a shop in Soho, before rolling out internationally. [WWD]

Tantalizing: Jason Wu is adding accessories to his eponymous collection. He’s already dipped a toe into the water with a range of sunglasses. [Vogue U.K.]

Inez van Lamsweerde on retouching: “We have all become avatars.” Someone alert James Cameron! [The Guardian via Fashionologie]

And the most adorable video you’ll see this week: Spanish goalie, team captain, and newly crowned World Cup winner Iker Casillas conducts an on-air interview of sorts with his broadcaster girlfriend, Sara Carbonero. Adrien Brody and Halle Berry have got nothing on these two. [Gawker]
