Throughout fashion month, the street-style set has been sporting Balenciaga aplenty, and we’re not just talking about the cartoon-print sweatshirts from Fall 2012. It’s the electric-hued zebra print, in pencil skirt form, from pre-fall that has caught our eye. Here, we’ve called out a few Style.com favorites captured by Tommy Ton. Paired with equally killer accessories, it’s no surprise that these looks stopped our resident street-style photographer in his tracks.
When Alexander Wang sent his models down the Fall 2012 runway, he may have set the tone of the season. That same deep burgundy, on his leather coats and separates, is just hitting stores in ready-to-wear and accessory form. From pointy-toed Tabitha Simmons booties to Tibi printed trousers, we’ve rounded up six must-haves in the of-the-moment oxblood color.

“The Fall 2012 collection had to do with uniforms—more specifically, navy nylon uniforms that had a kind of police academy feeling,” Patrik Ervell reminds us. Over the weekend, with his new Spring collection, he demonstrated that he’s moved on to something sunnier for inspiration (California), but for his Fall video (presented by Aldo), he went out of this world. “I think the video has a suggestion of the police academy setting. An academy of sorts but in an alternate world or possibly a future world,” he explains. To achieve that sci-fi vision, the designer collaborated with director M. Blash and shot the video at an indoor skydiving simulator, sending models flying into the air wearing the Ervell “uniforms.” “The Fall collection used a lot of heavier nylons, so the clothes worked really well with the concept of the video. Also, watching people fly around in my clothes was pretty amazing.”
Canadian catwalker Anais Pouliot (pictured) is the star of Carven’s Fall 2012 ad campaign. In the images, lensed once again by photographer Viviane Sassen, the model shows off a series of creative director Guillaume Henry’s covetable numbers from the collection (which, as usual, had editors eagerly making their wish lists as they sat front-row at the show in March). Here, Style.com has a first look at the campaign.
