What Anna, Margherita, Giovanna,
And More Wore For Halloween

And you thought the New York fashion crowd went to town with its Halloween costumes. The Italian up-and-comer Francesco Scognamiglio sent us these pics from Friday night’s Hallowood Party at the photographer Giampaolo Sgura’s place in Milan. Anna Della Russo (top)—dressed in homage to Lady Gaga in a latex dress from Scognamiglio’s tenth anniversary collection—we’d recognize anywhere, but we never took Marco Zanini and his sister Miki for basketball lovers (below) or Margherita Missoni for a Simpsons fan (above). Who knows, maybe they aren’t. The theme was “America.” Enjoy, and don’t miss our slideshows of the NYC festivities. Continue Reading “What Anna, Margherita, Giovanna,

Francesco Scognamiglio Tells A Love Story

If Francesco Scognamiglio’s newish association with the classic Italian outerwear maker Allegri had followers like Chloë Sevigny, Alice Dellal, and Madonna worried that he’d lose his edge, the video he gave a sneak peek at above should dispel any concern. In it, model Hannelore Knuts, sporting a peak-shouldered camel coat, a belted knit dress dipped in gold, and some very heavy-looking necklaces, all from his Fall collection, shares screen time with a trio of buffed-to-perfection naked men. The short film, which was directed by Giampaolo Sgura and styled by Paolo Turina, “is an allegorical yet ironic representation of my idea of femininity,” Scognamiglio told us. “Apparently strong and self-conscious and quasi-androgynous, while in reality extremely fragile, passionate, and romantic.” We’re not exactly sure what that means, but we like the way it looks. You can catch the video in its X-rated entirety on when the Italians return from their August vacations.
