Are These America’s Next Top Models?


Each year, Condé Nast celebrates Take Your Children to Work Day, and for’s station, our editors set up a mock photo shoot to create new covers for The participating kids styled themselves in an array of accessories, from tiaras and fake mustaches to feather boas and sunglasses, courtesy of Guess, H&M, Forever 21, Old Navy, and Claire’s, before posing (and jumping) for the camera. The results? Let’s say 2012′s top glossy faces will have some serious competition in the coming years. Are there a few models in the making? See a few of our favorite photos, above.

Crackdowns On Miniskirts And Prom Dresses, Gucci And Guess Go to Court, And More…


Emilio Pucci vice president and image director Laudomia Pucci (left) is set to be named a Chevalier de l’Ordre des Art et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) by French culture minister Frédéric Mitterrand today. In a statement, Pucci says, “I’m really happy to receive this award, which for me represents a big stimulus.” [WWD]

How mini is too mini? Although Indonesia is still establishing the criteria for what constitutes “porn crime,” Indonesian religious affairs minister Suryadharma Ali has dubbed miniskirts as pornographic and proposed a ban on them. [Vogue U.K.]

Speaking of dress code regulation, The Wall Street Journal reports that high schools in the U.S. are increasingly saying “no” to prom dresses their students are picking out. Reportedly, schools around the country are rolling out “elaborate dress codes” in an effort to cut out the plunging necklines and hiked-up hems they find inappropriate for a school dance. [WSJ]

Gucci has accused Guess of infringing on its G designs. The infringement claim was reportedly taken up in court today in New York, and Gucci is seeking over $124 million in damages for the imitations of its trademarks by Guess. [Telegraph]

Claudia Schiffer’s Still Got It, Marie Antoinette’s Shoes Sell For 43,225 Euros, And More…


Claudia Schiffer shot her first Guess ad campaign when she was 19, and now, at 41, she has stepped behind the camera once more for the label. Schiffer stars in the Guess 30th anniversary campaign, lensed by Ellen von Unwerth. [Telegraph]

Joseph has announced it will do a runway show for the first time ever at London fashion week in September. The British brand has yet to reveal the details of the show, but tells British Vogue it has something “very special” in the works. [Vogue U.K.]

Leave it to Beyoncéto step out with an über-fancy baby harness for her daughter Blue Ivy. The pop star was spotted in New York yesterday toting her 3-month-old daughter in a gray fur stole. [Huff Po]

Perhaps even Marie Antoinette would be surprised to learn how much a pair of her slippers (pictured) sold for at a recent auction. At a sale in Toulon, France, the white silk and embellished slippers (dated circa 1790) brought in 43,225 euros, or $57,336 at the current exchange rate. They had originally been expected to bring an estimated 3,000 to 5,000 euros, WWD reports. [WWD]
