Roger Vivier And Uniqlo Are California-Bound, Tommy’s Tips, Nicole Kidman To Take On Princess Grace Role, And More…


French brand Roger Vivier has announced plans to open its third shop in the States. The latest space, which will house the label’s footwear and accessories as well as the limited-edition Rendez-Vous line, will be in Costa Mesa (the other two U.S. stores are in New York City and Miami).[WWD]

Uniqlo is also set to head west—this morning the retailer revealed that San Francisco is the site of its newest location. The flagship shop is the brands’ first U.S. location outside of New York and is set to open in the fall of 2012. [Uniqlo]

Nicole Kidman is rumored to have won the role of Princess Grace for the new Olivier Dahan-directed film Grace of Monaco. Negotiations for the film, which will cost a projected $30 million to produce, are reportedly still being finalized. [Vogue U.K.]

-------’s roving street-style correspondent, Tommy Ton, is making the jump from fashion observer to fashion designer. Ton teamed up with Club Monaco to design two exclusive bags, which hit the retailer’s stores this week. Both styles—a messenger bag-inspired satchel for women and a backpack for men—are made in British Millerain with leather trim and nickel hardware and retail between $198 and $225. To introduce the bags to the world, the photoblogger slipped a few advance pieces to a few key friends and subjects and did what he does best: begin shooting. Tommy Ton Gets Some Bloglovin


We already knew that Tommy Ton is the king of street-style photography, but last night, he was given the official crown at the annual Bloglovin’ Awards. While Tommy’s JakAndJil blog won for best street style at the event, organized by blog update alert site Bloglovin’, he was joined in the winners circle by the likes of ManRepeller’s Leandra Medine (who took home Blogger of the Year) and Olivia Palermo (named Newcomer of the Year). Congrats to Tommy Ton!
