Walking the annual Victoria’s Secret extravaganza is a milestone in any model’s career. After all, it’s as much about lighting up the stage with your personality (not to mention dance moves—who could forget Jourdan Dunn doing the robot last year?) as it is about having a killer body, and being able to smile while strutting with a pair of thirty-pound wings on your back. While there’s no way to confirm exactly who will be appearing on the VS catwalk this evening alongside Taylor Swift, we’ve come up with an educated guess based on social media clues gathered over the past week, as well as shots from yesterday’s rehearsal (like the one above, featuring Sara Sampaio, Martha Hunt, Jasmine Tookes, and Leva Laguna working the runway).
Of course there are bound to be appearances by veteran Angels such as Adriana Lima (it will be her fourteenth time participating in the show), Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Doutzen Kroes, Lily Aldridge, Karlie Kloss, and Cara Delevingne. [Regrettably, Miranda Kerr announced she will be ending her contract with the lingerie megalith to pursue other projects.] Those aforementioned supers are all but givens at this point, and so it’s the remaining twenty-plus coveted slots—selected by casting director John Pfeiffer—that really get us excited. Style.com has learned that several high fashion runway regulars will be making their VS debuts tonight: Sigrid Agren and Josephine Skriver (both posted snapshots of themselves sporting the official Angels bomber jacket on Instagram), as well as Ming Xi, Maria Borges, Kasia Struss, and Jac. We were even more thrilled to hear that some our top Spring ’14 newcomers including Malaika Firth, Devon Windsor, Cindy Bruno, and Sara Sampaio also beat out dozens of more established girls to earn their first pair of wings.
“I felt like the neighborhood was lacking in stores that you just want to hang out in and see what the other girls are wearing,” said PR veteran Winnie Beattie (pictured, left) last night at the opening party for her new Nolita boutique, Warm. A self-described “urban hippie,” Beattie grew up in Hawaii and met her husband, Rob Magnotta, while surfing in Montauk, so she wanted to create a personal, sunny environment for her store. Inside, you’ll find hard-to-find labels like Yvonne Sporre and Roseanna, as well as more recognizable ones such as Vanessa Bruno and Jérôme Dreyfuss, along with kids’ clothes and home goods.”[It's] dirty French girl meets SoCal,” she said of the aesthetic.
Indeed, the small space feels like a tropical oasis, with the help of fragrant Coqui Coqui candles and oils as well as the fruity shave ice (and Champagne) that was served to guests at last night’s fête. Street-style favorite Hanne Gaby Odiele, who lives down the block from Warm, hosted the gathering and was expectedly dressed-to-the-nines in a Proenza Schouler jacket and Balenciaga hot shorts (Warm sent her some merchandise to wear but alas, her sub-sample-size frame was too small for it). Odiele invited along a slew of her catwalk friends, which made for some premium model gawking, with the likes of Kasia Struss, Julia Nobis, Kate King, Andie Arthur, and adorable couple Sheila Marquez and Christian Brylle all in attendance. “We’ll definitely be spending a lot of time in here,” Odiele, who was hanging out on the couches in the back with her model clan, told Style.com. In anticipation of that, Beattie reported she’s got in-store manicure sessions and more parties in the backyard planned for the near future.

Alexander McQueen designer Sarah Burton sits down with Vogue U.K. to discuss injecting more of herself into the McQueen label. “I’m not going to wipe the slate clean. That would be wiping me away,” she tells the magazine. “There will always be those McQueen elements, but at the same time, you can never stay still and you have to stay true to yourself. That’s what Lee drummed in to me: you have to be able to stand behind your work.” [Vogue U.K.]
And in Miami, hip-hop star Nicki Minaj reportedly celebrated a little too hard on New Year’s Eve—she split her leather dress. The show must go on, though, and it didn’t stop her from performing—she just summoned her stylist to the stage to do a little mid-song suturing while she sang. [Page Six]
The French fashion festival in Hyères wrapped up this weekend, with Belgian Alexandra Verschueren taking the top prize for her creations made out of paper and papery fabrics. “I don’t even introduce myself as a designer,” she said. Well, maybe time to think about starting. [Hint Mag]

…but, amazingly, no one said they’d wanted to be a multi-platform lifestyle guru with both prison time and a successful TV show under her belt. Well, that job’s taken by former model Martha Stewart, whose early-sixties modeling shots have hit the Web. [Styleite]
